The Nursery at First United Methodist Jesus said, “Let the Little Children come to me and do not hinder them for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these” Mark 10:14-1
We strive to help families by providing a safe, loving environment for the youngest members of our congregation. To this end we have implemented policies to ensure the safety and happiness of your child.
The Nursery is provided for church functions only. Babies are admitted to the Nursery at the age the parent or guardian feels appropriate. During worship, nursery is provided for children ages birth until your child’s fourth birthday. At the age of four children are invited to Children’s Church until the end of first grade. Nursery is provided for children ages birth to two years old during the Sunday School hours at 9:45 a.m. Children ages three and older attend Sunday School class during the 9:45 a.m. hour. It is the parents’ responsibility to pickup and drop-off children to and from the Nursery and Sunday School. The only disciplinary action taken in the Nursery is Time Out. Children who have become extremely upset will be returned to parents for reassurance and guidance.
We want to make sure all our children are dropped off and picked up safely. On Sunday mornings, we operate a secure child check-in, for children 3 years and younger, through a computer system. We will collect basic information about your child including allergies, family information, and special instructions. If you are visiting with us, please allow a couple extra minutes to properly sign your child into nursery care.
